Admission Pattern of Newborns admitted in special newborn care unit: an observational from North West of India

Background: Globally, neonatal deaths constitute 44% of all in less than 5 years age group .The concept SNCU is based on the learning from “Purulia model”. This research study was undertaken, to assess profile sick newborns admitted SNCU.Methods The investigators analyzed this data and establish morbidity Hamirpur 2019.Results: Total 422 were 197 (46.7%) females 225 (53.3%) males. Out these 381 (90.3%) inborn 41(9.7%) out born. In 293 (76.9%) weighed more 2.5 kg, 83 (21.8%) low birth weight <2.5 kg 1.5 2 (0.52%) very i.e < 1 one newborn extreme <1 kg. born group, 23 (56.1%) 13 (31.8%) 4 (9.8%) Jaundice most common condition 63%, infection 9.5%, respiratory diseases 9% asphyxia 7.8%.Conclusions: sensitive time for mortality development during period. main reasons hospitalisation include jaundice, preterm, weight, perinatal asphyxia, infection. Neonatal continues be primary reason both outborn admission SNCU, babies make up majority group.
